Imagine Godzilla meets body horror meets political drama and you have this movie. It's essentially what would happen if David Cronenberg directed a Godzilla film. It does drag a little bit in places but overall worth a look. The scene where Godzilla goes atomic is absolute nightmare fuel and is worth a watch for that scene alone. America turned Godzilla into a superhero of sorts and Japan has shown us the monster he really is with this film.
