DE LA CASA

So as you may have noticed over the past few months that the reviews/posts on the site had slowed down. I feel I have some explaining to do.

The past few months have been a time of immense change in my life, I've finally moved into my own house and with that I had to take some time out to get things in order.

It has always been a dream of mine to have a man cave where I can display my DVD collection and after weeks of organizing my 1000+ DVD collection I finally have one.

The name of this site will stay the same but I have retired the physical Watch box, I can now announce its spiritual successor which is the man cave I call "De La Casa".

BRINGING OUT THE DEAD (1999) REVIEW.

An underrated film in Martin Scorsese's back catalogue, well worth seeking out, it is a fun thriller if anything.

3.5 out of 5 STARS.

WHERE IS ANNE FRANK (2021)

I feel like it was done respectfully as possible to the source material but I didn't think it was as captivating as the film was hoping to be. The final 15 minutes lost me.

3 out of 5 STARS.

CONSTANTINE (2005) REVIEW

Some people crap all over this film but it's one of my guilty pleasure action films, it's a fun time.

BLACK BAG (2025) REVIEW

The film wasn't what I expected but it was ok, it was smart but also kind of boring. I feel like the film breezed through some of the plot points without ever really going into more detail. It was very stylish but could of used a little more substance in my opinion. Now I've watched it once I won't go out of my way to watch it again.

2.5 out of 5 STARS.

PREY (2022) REVIEW

A breath of fresh air and a truly original premise for a predator prequel, the fact that this film was sent straight to streaming services is criminal. This definitely should have had a theatrical run.

4 out of 5 STARS.

THE MARKSMAN (2021) REVIEW

An intense action flick with more than a few heartfelt moments thrown in for good measure.

4 out of 5 STARS.

SAFE (2012) REVIEW

A Statham film that suffered from a clunky script which made no sense.

2 out of 5 STARS.

VAN DIEMAN'S LAND (2009) REVIEW

A horrifyingly bleak retelling of the true story of Alexander Pearce, this film is not for the faint of heart but it is well worth the watch.

3.5 out of 5 STARS.

THE FLORIDA PROJECT (2017) REVIEW

Wow, just wow this film uniquely captures the odd innocence of misbehaving children, not caring much about the world around them as kids do. It is full of charm throughout. This film is the definition of kids being kids. Dafoe is fantastic in this film also. Definitely recommend.

4 out of 5 STARS.

BULLY (2001) REVIEW

It's a film that leaves nothing to the imagination and is a bit too sexual for my tastes, but if you can get through the first chunk of this film the second half becomes quite entertaining.

3 out of 5 STARS.

THE LION KING (1994) REVIEW

A classic with more heart than 99% of the modern children's movies today.

4 out of 5 STARS.

KALIFORNIA (1993) REVIEW

Doesn't reinvent the serial killer road trip wheel but it helps that it has a strong cast. Brad Pitt always plays a good bad guy.

3 out of 5 STARS.

MOANA 2 (2024) REVIEW

An enjoyable kids film, though not as good as the first .

2.5 out of 5 STARS.

2 GUNS (2013) REVIEW

An buddy action film that has some good laughs and one liners throughout.

3.5 out of 5 STARS.

MUFASA: THE LION KING (2024) REVIEW

A fun film but lost half a star because I wasn't a fan of the realistic animation.

3.5 out of 5 STARS.

THE TOXIC AVENGER (1984) REVIEW

A pure master-class in 80s schlock! Buckets of gore, the hammiest of acting and a story that is completely over the top, what more do you ...
