DEVIL'S ADVOCATE (1997) REVIEW

Has some of Keanu Reeves best acting and Al Pacino is over the top as always, other than that I couldn't really get into this one as much as I should have.

SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET (2007) REVIEW

Although I did enjoy the film for its story and gore, I can't rate this film any higher than a three because I can't stand musicals. One of Tim Burton's more divisive films.

LEON: THE PROFESSIONAL (1994) REVIEW

This film was amazing, it really captured Leon's human side and that ending brought a tear to my eye. Definitely worth the watch.

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (2004) REVIEW

A fun yet incredibly creepy film that feels like something that would be at home in Tim Burtons filmography, Jim Carrey makes this film even better with his over the top performance. Definitely worth a watch, although it may be too scary for some children.

FALLING DOWN (1993) REVIEW

I have no idea how Joel Schumacher went from making this to making his god awful Batman films. This film was awesome and I definitely recommend it.

THE NAKED GUN (2025) REVIEW

Although there were many laughs, there were also a lot of jokes that didn't quite land. This film is dumb and I enjoyed it but I also wanted to enjoy it more than I did.

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (1994) REVIEW

A classic although I feel like it's a classic which could have ended 20 minutes earlier than it did. I would have ended the film at reds "I guess I just miss my friend" line and left the ending ambiguous. I feel like the ending we got explains everything too much. Still this film is a worthwhile watch that you should see at least once.

I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (2006) REVIEW

More a pale imitation of the original rather than a proper third film, edited with all the edgy jump cuts thrown in for good measure.

FIXED (2025) REVIEW

Terrible and unfunny. Now I'm a fan of animation aimed at adults but this was just an hour and a half of buttholes and really bad sex jokes, how anyone thought this film was a good idea is beyond me. The only reason this doesn't get a lower score is that I'm a sucker for animation but other than that it was a waste of an hour of my life that I will never get back. This film is the prime example of a director being given the reigns and failing miserably. Genndy really should have been told no.

KILLING THEM SOFTLY (2012) REVIEW

This story driven film is fantastic, it pulled me in and refused to let go. The cast were amazing and really made the film what it is. Definitely recommend it if you haven't watched this movie already as it will rock your socks off.

ASHENS & THE POLYBIUS HEIST (2020) REVIEW

Yeah I mean it was ok but apart from a chuckle at the start I didn't find this film to be all that funny. This movie tries hard to be strange and I'm not really convinced that its strange in a good way. Eh I don't recommend it but I'm also not telling you to not watch this film, you might enjoy it more than I did.

PIG PEN (2015) REVIEW

A coming of age thriller that is a grimy slow burn. The second half of this film is insane. You'll feel like you need to take a shower after watching this one. Not for the faint of heart but I loved it. Would be awesome to see this one get a remake in the future.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS (2025) REVIEW

solid film, though my main grievance is that Galactus should have been built up as a Thanos level threat, not used as a throw away villain in the first MCU Fantastic 4 outing. Other than that I did enjoy it.

DISTRICT 9 (2009) REVIEW

District 9 is a 2009 film directed by Neil Blomkamp and produced by Mr lord of the rings himself Peter Jackson. The main gist of the film is that an alien ship had made it's way to Johannesburg. We're then introduced to the alien species that have been given the name Prawns by the locals after we receive some more back story it leads us to the modern day here and now part of the film where after years of unrest the Prawns are to be evicted and moved to a new camp by the MNU. Now I'm not going to go into the plot anymore here as it gets fairly interesting as the film progresses and I'd rather you see it for yourself as I wouldn't be able to do it justice. The mix of sci fi, body horror and dystopia make for an originally unique film but I did find the main character to be very unlikeable for a large chunk of the film I was hoping he'd redeem himself and I was happy to see he eventually did. The special effects are top notch, the Prawns are very detailed and the body horror scenes are really well done. This film is a treat for the eyes. I also thought that the way the film was set as part documentary and part narrative was very clever. Now with that being said I did enjoy this movie but I couldn't get into it as much as I wanted too. Overall it's an entertaining film but it just didn't end up being for me and isn't something I'm going to revisit in a hurry

THE BIRTH OF A NATION (2016) REVIEW

The Birth of a nation is a 2016 film directed by Nate Parker. This film is based on the true story of Nat Turner who led a slave uprising in 1831. The cast is solid with some great performances by Armie Hammer and Jackie earl Haley. Jackie always plays a great villain and this performance is no exception. This is Nate Parker's first outing in the director's chair and it is a decent effort. clearly intended for award season. My main issue with the film is that I feel like it takes a while to get going but it never quite ramps up to 100%. Sure with a film about slavery you expect confronting material and you do get that but you also get the thought they could have went a bit grittier with the vibe of the film. In my opinion they glossed over some of the heavier aspects for the big screen. This film does bring you back to a time where people were so cruel to others just because of their skin and luckily this ugly time in human history is behind us but I do think it also needed a little bit more realism. Overall this film is Oscar bait but it is enjoyable Oscar bait.

JUG FACE (2013) REVIEW

RENAISSANCE (2006) REVIEW

With a run of the mill story that's been done many times before, animation that is as shoddy as it is ugly and voice acting that is so wooden you'd have thought it came straight from the tree itself. it all adds up to a film that is non essential viewing for sci fi fans.

THE VOURDALAK (2023) REVIEW

RATKO: THE DICTATOR'S SON (2009) REVIEW

A garbage, unfunny Borat wannabe. The humor is non existent and the jokes only go for the lowest of low hanging fruit. This film consists of 95% badly written sex "Comedy" and really was just a horrible experience. The fact it has the National Lampoon branding is a disgrace to the once great company. Give this one a miss.

GIVE 'EM HELL MALONE (2009) REVIEW

A fun noir film that I thoroughly enjoyed, this film is what I wanted Sin City to be. If there were any negatives it would have to be that the character called Matchstick was essentially a Heath Ledgers Joker impersonation, Other than that there were no complaints from me.

SUPERMAN (2025) REVIEW

Yeah it wasn't great, I found myself many times during the film asking myself who, what, where or why? I couldn't for the life of me take Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor seriously at all. There were a few times when I laughed that wasn't supposed to be intentional. Definitely was a strange flick.

DADDY DAUGHTER TRIP (2022) REVIEW

This film is pure low budget unfunny crap. The acting is non existent and the story line is terrible. Also am I the only one who was grossed out by Rob Schneider's psychical appearance in this film? he looked absolutely disgusting, maybe it was a mix of old age and bad lighting but boy did he look foul, I don't know why this film exists but we would of been better off if it didn't.
